Because According to Jean Anyon's study mentioned in Sensoy & DiAngelo (2017), students from lower social class schools described knowledge as mostly procedural, while students from higher social class schools defined knowledge with an emphasis on theory and critical thinking. Thus, knowledge was socially constructed.
